Savoring Culture and Creativity: Natad ni Olympia Shines in Culinary Show at 75th Adlaw Hong Butuan “Agrikultura Ka’amo Isda’anan.” Celebration Series Guingona Park, Butuan City | August 7, 2025 As the rich aroma of native delicacies filled Guingona Park, one of the most anticipated highlights of the 75th Adlaw Hong Butuan celebration came to life — the Culinary Show by Natad ni Olympia, proudly featured under the " Agrikultura Ka’amo Isda’anan." an initiative of the City Agriculture and Veterinary Department, and sponsored by AgriBOOST Project. This vibrant activity was made possible through the unwavering support of the City Government of Butuan led by City Mayor Atty. Lawrence Lemuel H. Fortun, whose leadership continues to champion culture-based development and local empowerment. Natad ni Olympia, a proudly local and innovative culinary group, brought the spotlight to Butuan’s beloved heritage dishes, showcasing their culinary flair and deep passion for preserving Butuanon food culture. Through engaging live cooking demos and food storytelling, they treated the audience to authentic flavors rooted in tradition and memory. Among the featured dishes were: 1. Ginataang Gulay – a Butuanon delicacy, medley of fresh local vegetable and coconut meat simmered in coconut milk 2. Ginataang Banisil – a comforting native snail dish, cooked in coconut milk with various vegetables. 3. Dabao-Dabao –a local delicacy, specifically a type of sweet treat made from fried unaw and combined spices. 4. Palagsing- It's a sweet and chewy a traditional Butuanon delicacy made from Unaw These recipes are more than food — they are cultural expressions, carrying generations of wisdom, taste, and Butuanon pride. The event became a platform to promote local ingredients, empower homegrown talents, and rekindle love for our own culinary identity.
