YFC Awarding Ceremony; Young Farmers of Butuan Recognized
The Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) Region XIII (Caraga) Awarding Ceremony was successfully held at the Balanghai Hotel, recognizing the innovation, determination, and entrepreneurial excellence of young agripreneurs across the region. Among the awardees, Butuan City proudly emerged with three winning entries, highlighting the city’s strong support for youth-led agricultural enterprises. In the Start-Up Category, with a grant of ₱80,000.00 each, two (2) entries from Butuan City were declared regional winners: Geian R. Lama of Brgy. Taligaman for her enterprise Pickled Quail Egg, and Brian Jay M. Cabiguin of Brgy. Ambago, for Coffee Focalpoint, an innovative agri-based coffee venture. Meanwhile, in the Upscale Category, receiving ₱300,000.00, one (1) entry from Butuan City secured a regional win: Omegapon O. Rañin of Brgy. Basag for OmegzFarm, an expanding agricultural enterprise that demonstrated strong growth potential, innovation, and sustainability. The results also highlighted the strong performance of 4-H Club Butuan, whose members contributed to the city’s winning entries: Upscale Category (₱300,000.00): Kiven John Erojo – 4-H CSU Start-Up Category (₱80,000.00): Armando Paque – 4-H CSU The awarding ceremony celebrated the achievements of these young agripreneurs and reaffirmed the commitment of Butuan City and its partner institutions to empower the youth through agriculture, innovation, and enterprise development.
