Farmers gathered last September 16, 2025 for the Farmers Field Day and Forum on Varietal Technology & Nutrient Management, led by DA–PhilRice Agusan in partnership with the City Agriculture and Veterinary Department (CAVD). The activity highlighted the latest rice varietal technologies coupled with nutrient management practices designed to improve yield, reduce production costs, and promote sustainable farming. Local farmers were given the opportunity to see firsthand the performance of different rice varieties under proper nutrient management strategies. During the forum, experts from DA-PhilRice Agusan shared insights on climate-resilient rice varieties, balanced fertilization, and site-specific nutrient management. Farmers also engaged in discussions about practical approaches to increase productivity while conserving resources. City Agriculturist representatives expressed gratitude to DA-PhilRice for its continued support to Butuan farmers, emphasizing that technology adoption is key in ensuring food security and competitiveness in the rice sector.
